Amy Mears founded Focused SMB in 2017 to address the marketing and technology needs of small black owned businesses focused on improving their communities. She stands proudly as a Child of God, Wife, Mother of 4 and life-long Student.
Born and raised in Richmond, Va, Amy began her career in technology with the US Navy immediately after graduating high school. After leaving the service, she continued to work in IT for federal, state, and public organizations including IBM, Advanced Concepts, SyCom, Capital One, and State of Virginia.
In 2006, she and her family moved back to Richmond, VA.
For many years, she has provided technology and marketing consultation to family, friends and church members.
Amy has developed an online platform Ebony Exchange (currently under revision) to connect the community with Black-owned businesses in Richmond, VA. Her main interests include spending time with family, mentoring, and reading.
